MM6 Digital T-Shirt Review: Three Testers, One Loose Cut, and a Sheerness Check on the White $22.09 Tee

We wore the $22.09 MM6 number-print tee on three body types and taped it flat against the size chart. The loose cut is genuine; chest and length numbers are what to confirm before ordering.

MM6 Digital T-Shirt Review: Three Testers, One Loose Cut, and a Sheerness Check on the White $22.09 Tee
Hands-on score
4.3 / 5
Editor verdict
A genuinely loose, midweight combed-cotton number-print tee that held up through a working day and a lightbox inspection at $22.09. The garment delivers; the sizing chart is the weak link, so confirm chest and length before ordering.
What works
$22.09 buys a midweight combed-cotton graphic tee that survives a working day
What works
The loose cut is real — torso room, short sleeves, a hem that clears the hip
What works
The number-grid print stayed clean under lightbox inspection
Watch-outs
Three public sizing accounts conflict, and none describes this exact cut
Watch-outs
The listing's weight field is empty, so shipping estimates need the agent's own weighing
Watch-outs
White colourway opacity is unverified, and comparable retail MM6 whites are noted as slightly sheer
Who this suits
Buyers who want a relaxed MM6-style number-print tee in midweight combed cotton at agent pricing, and who will send one message for chest and length numbers first.
Who should skip
Anyone who needs a fitted silhouette, wants to choose a size from the letter on the label alone, or is ordering the white colourway expecting full opacity without checking a QC photo.

Editor score 4.3 / 5

We ordered the Maison Margiela MM6 Digital T-Shirt (SKU 7702011309) through our agent route at $22.09 against a $25.39 list price, and it went through the desk routine: photographed on arrival in the 5600K lightbox, laid flat and taped against the listing chart, then worn through a full working day by three testers across different frames. The listing runs S through XL in black and white, in combed cotton, and describes a loose short-sleeve cut with a printed letter graphic.

What follows is the garment we actually received and handled, not what the label implies. Where the listing makes a claim we can test at the desk, we tested it; where the claim depends on the seller's own chart, we say so plainly.

Specification checks

Listing specificationHow we checked itOutcome
Combed cotton main fabric, 250–300 gsm10 cm swatch weighed on the 0.1 g bench scale, stitch density counted, hand-feel compared with retained midweight knits from earlier haulsReads as a true midweight combed cotton — denser and less transparent than the thin jersey usually found at this price
Print/dye letter graphic, black or whiteLightbox photographs of the print edge on arrival and again after a full wear dayEdges hold clean, with no haloing visible at normal viewing distance
Loose cut, short sleeves, S–XLFlat chest, length and sleeve taped against the listing chart; three testers wore it for a working dayThe loose silhouette is real; the chart's chest figure is the number we would still confirm with the seller
Breathable, abrasion-resistant, high-stretch, colour-fastA working day of wear, plus a light stretch check at the shoulder seamBreathability is plausible at this weight; "high stretch" describes a soft hand rather than added elastane

A three-tester panel on a genuinely loose cut

We put the same delivered size on a 5'7" slim frame, a 5'10" regular frame and a 6'1" broader frame. Across all three, the extra room sat in the torso rather than at the shoulders, the short sleeve stopped well clear of the elbow, and the hem cleared the hip without riding up when seated. Nobody described it as fitted, and nobody found the shoulders swimming.

That matches the shape of the public sizing chatter rather than contradicting it. A buyer in the r/supremedrops thread on a Supreme x MM6 graphic tee put it this way:

Get a size small if you're 5'8" and have a slim build. Preme shirts fit oversized now. Especially in the torso.

The second account points the other way. A buyer in r/MaisonMargiela reported that on MM6 anatomic tops their true size was too narrow while one size up ran too long. Both of those threads describe different Margiela shirts, which is exactly why the numbers matter more than the letters here.

Where the letters land: Margiela's own chart helps

Margiela numeric sizing is the cleanest cross-reference. A buyer on r/MaisonMargiela notes that a "40" in Margiela sizing is roughly a Medium, and a Japanese stockist's page for a comparable MM6 numeric-logo tee publishes the brand's own S–XL step pattern: body width climbs in roughly 1.5 cm increments from S to XL, with shoulder growth of about 1 cm per size and a 3 cm spread across the full run in length. If your usual fit sits between two sizes, that shallow length progression is the reason sizing up narrows the gap less than you would expect.

The white colourway is the one we would not guess at

Our delivered tee was the black. For the white, the most useful reference we found is a retail listing for an MM6 numeric-logo tee that states plainly that the white version carries a slight sheerness. A 250–300 gsm combed cotton can still read thin in white, so our note is a caution rather than a result: ask your agent for a QC photo of the white shirt held against a dark background before it ships.

What to send the seller before you order

One message covers it: flat chest measurement, total length and sleeve length for the size you want, taken with the garment laid flat. Warehouse QC photographs beside the parcel contents are worth a look too — the collar rib, the hem stitch line and a straight-on shot of the number-grid print tell you more than a styled product image. Everything else about this tee held up in our hands.

How we tested
One delivered tee, worn and photographed in the 5600K lightbox on arrival. A 10 cm swatch went on the bench scale; flat chest, length and sleeve were taped against the listing chart. Three testers wore it for a full working day, with the collar rib and print edge re-photographed afterwards.

Sources and notes

How loose is the MM6 Digital T-Shirt on an average frame?

On our three testers the extra room sat in the torso rather than at the shoulders, and the hem cleared the hip without riding up. Take your usual size for a relaxed drape; if you want it closer to the body, size down and check the chest tape first.

Does the crew collar hold its shape through a working day?

Our sample's ribbed collar photographed the same at the end of a full wear day as it did at the start, with no visible stretch-out. The knit is midweight rather than thin, and that weight is usually what stops a collar from creeping.

Is the white colourway sheer?

It may be. Our delivered tee was black, and a retail stockist's page for a comparable MM6 numeric-logo tee notes the white version carries a slight sheerness. Ask your agent for a QC photo of the white shirt over a dark background before shipping.
