Louis Vuitton Gradient-Color T-Shirt Review: When the Listing Describes Two Different Prints

We ordered the gradient-print tee at $36.04, measured it flat, wore it through a full working day and air-dried it twice. Heavy cotton and tidy labels, but the listing's own wording disagrees about what the print actually is.

A genuinely heavy 320gsm cotton tee with complete labelling for $36.04, but the listing describes two different prints and the repeat does not scale with size. Measure, request exact-size photos, and air-dry.

This is a $36.04 short-sleeve cotton tee, listed under SKU 7705224160 and marked down from $38.06, sold through an agent listing in black or white across S–XL. We ordered it because the specification block makes a claim that is easy to check with a steel tape and a lightbox: 320gsm double-yarn pure cotton, digitally printed all over, with hangtag, neck label and wash label included. What we did not expect was a listing that describes two different garments in two different paragraphs.

What arrived, and what the listing promised

The parcel contents matched the packaging claim: hangtag, printed neck label and wash label were all present, and the shirt arrived without loose threads at the collar or cuffs. The fabric reads heavy in the hand straight out of the bag — noticeably denser than a standard mall-brand tee — which is consistent with the 320gsm double-yarn description rather than a marketing flourish.

The copy is where things get slippery. The English description describes a white base carrying a gradient-effect monogram pattern in blue and red. The specification block underneath lists colourways as black and white and the source product text refers to a splatter-dye all-over logo print. Those are not the same product. We ordered the white version and photographed it in the 5600K lightbox, and the print on our sample reads as an all-over tonal repeat rather than a clean two-tone gradient wash — so treat the words "gradient" and "splatter" in this listing as interchangeable shorthand until you see real photographs of the exact colour you are buying.

The print-repeat question we could not settle alone

One shirt in one size cannot tell you how a print behaves across a size run. That is where wider owner reports matter, and they are consistent: buyers discussing Louis Vuitton all-over prints describe the pattern not scaling with the garment, so a size S can read larger-printed than a size XL.

"I am assuming that the stitching does not scale up with the sizes, resulting in smaller sizes having a bigger print and larger sizes having a smaller print." — buyer thread on all-over Louis Vuitton prints, r/FashionReps

Our sample looked well proportioned on the body, but that is a single data point. If print scale matters to you, ask the agent for QC photographs of the exact size and colour you are ordering rather than accepting the default shots of a different variant.

Fit, wear and drying

Louis Vuitton apparel is widely described as slim French sizing, and this tee follows that pattern: the body is neat through the chest with a shoulder line that sits where it should, not dropped. One tester wore it through a full working day in a warm office; the 320gsm cotton did not cling or go limp at the collar, though it is a shirt you feel on a hot afternoon rather than forget.

Drying is the one place where owner reports and our test diverge in emphasis. Our air-dried sample shrank imperceptibly; buyers of Louis Vuitton men's tees report that a tumble dryer takes roughly a full size out of these shirts. We did not put ours in a dryer to find out. Air-dry it.

The price, read correctly

$36.04 is the item price, reduced from $38.06 on the agent listing. Domestic shipping to the warehouse, service fees and international freight sit on top of that, and the shirt is listed as in stock. It is a fair number for a heavyweight cotton tee with complete labelling — the caveat is that the two areas most likely to disappoint, print scale and finished fit, are the two the listing copy describes least reliably.

What we would do before ordering: confirm the colourway you want, request QC photos of that exact size, compare the chart numbers with a tee you already own, and plan to air-dry.

How we tested
Ordered in white, size M, at $36.04 through the agent listing. The shirt was photographed in the 5600K lightbox, flat-measured against the chart, print edges checked at shoulder and side seams, worn for a full working day by one tester, then cold-washed and air-dried twice.

Sources and notes

Does the black colourway carry the same print as the white?

The listing is inconsistent: one description gives a white base with a blue-and-red gradient monogram, while the specification block lists black and white colourways and the source text mentions a splatter print. We only examined the white version, so request real photographs of black before ordering.

How does a 320gsm tee feel to wear?

Heavier and more structured than a standard lightweight tee, with less cling at the chest and a collar that holds its shape. Our tester felt it on a warm afternoon, so treat it as a three-season shirt rather than high-summer kit.

Is $36.04 the full amount I will pay?

No. $36.04 is the item price, reduced from $38.06. Domestic shipping to the agent warehouse, service fees and international freight are charged separately at checkout, so your landed cost will be higher.
