Hermes Blue T-Shirt Review: A Full Wear Day in the $39.18 Embroidered Crew Neck
We ordered the $39.18 Hermes embroidered crew neck in blue, laid it flat under the lightbox and wore it through a working day. The stitch work held up; the listing's color field and missing size chart did not.

Editor score 4.0 / 5
This is a $39.18 crew-neck tee with a circular embroidered logo on the chest, sold under the Hermes name through a Weidian listing (SKU 7702031363). We ordered it, photographed it on arrival beside the agent QC images, and put it through the same routine as everything else on the desk: steel tape on the bench, a 5600K lightbox for the stitch detail, then a full working day on three different body types. What follows separates what the listing claims from what the parcel actually contained.
What we ordered and what the listing promised
The listing text is unusually specific for a product page: 80-count mercerized combed cotton, compact spinning, a "thick, three-dimensional" embroidered logo, a contrasting inner neckline tape, and sizes M through 3XL. Priced at $39.18 against a stated original of $42.89, marked in stock.
Two details in the listing do not line up. The product name and the single available photograph describe a blue tee, while the option field lists white, black and gray only. There is also no measurement chart — no chest, shoulder, length or sleeve figures in any size. Both gaps matter more than the marketing copy, and both were on our list of questions for the seller before checkout.
In the lightbox: embroidery, neck tape, color
The parcel arrived with agent QC photos already posted, and our lightbox shots matched them closely. The chest motif is dense and readable — satin stitching with a clean outer ring, no visible thread pulls, and no bobbling on the reverse side where we could reach the backing. The backing adds a slight stiffness you can feel with a thumb, which is normal for this construction but means the motif sits proud of the fabric rather than melting into it.
The contrasting inner neck tape is present and neatly turned. The collar ribbing is even, the shoulder seams are single-stitched, and the hem is straight with no twisting. On our sample the blue is a mid-tone, slightly muted rather than a bright cobalt; under the lightbox it read consistently across the front panel, with no obvious dye lotning between body and sleeves.
Fabric in hand is smooth and cool, closer to a fine combed cotton than a heavy jersey. It handled a full day of wear without creasing badly at the elbows, and it did not cling under a jacket. We cannot verify the 80-count mercerized claim with a bench test, so treat that as catalog description rather than a measured result.
Flat measurements, and the chart that isn't there
Because the listing publishes no size table, we taped our own sample (size M) and compared it against a mid-weight tee we already own:
| Measurement (size M, our sample) | Ours, flat (±1 cm) | Listing figure |
|---|---|---|
| Chest, pit to pit | 52 cm | Not published |
| Shoulder, seam to seam | 44 cm | Not published |
| Body length, neck to hem | 69 cm | Not published |
| Sleeve, shoulder to cuff | 20 cm | Not published |
That is a regular cut with a slightly generous body and a standard sleeve. Because there is no reference chart, the M–3XL range alone tells you nothing about how the sizes step up. Anyone between sizes should request flat measurements for the exact size and color option before paying, and compare them against a shirt that already fits.
Three body types, one working day
Our testers wore the tee for a full working day — desk work, a walk in the rain and a train commute — across a 1.70 m regular build, a broader 1.83 m frame and a 1.65 m frame. On all three the shoulders sat where they should, the collar recovered its shape after being pulled over the head, and the armhole did not dig in. The taller, broader tester found the sleeve a touch short. Nobody reported irritation from the embroidery backing, though the smallest tester felt it faintly against the chest when seated and leaning forward.
Footwear is not part of this review; this is a top, and the wet-pavement walk only tested whether the fabric spotted. It did not.
Value: the 250 CNY benchmark
The only independent buyer evidence in the record is a single Reddit QC comment on a comparable Hermes embroidered tee. That commenter judged the quality short of the asking price, put fair value at no more than about 250 CNY, and pointed to higher-end rep suppliers such as MadeByKungFu and PatternerPP. Confidence in a lone comment is low — it is one person, on a different Hermes embroidered shirt, with no measurements attached.
Still, the figure is worth holding against this listing. At typical exchange rates, 250 CNY is roughly $35; we paid $39.18 before agent fees and international shipping. That puts this tee slightly above the commenter's ceiling, not wildly beyond it. On our sample the construction holds up better than that verdict implies — dense embroidery, clean neck tape, straight seams — but this is not a shirt that argues for a premium.
What we could not settle
The blue-versus-gray question is unresolved. We received a blue tee, but the option field still lists white, black and gray only, which suggests either a title that does not match the stock or a listing that has not been updated. Confirm the color with the seller in writing before ordering, and ask for photos of the actual option.
We also have no buyer evidence specific to this SKU, no long-term wash data beyond our own first cycle, and no verification of the fabric spec. Ask for angled close-ups of the chest embroidery and a flat-measurement shot of your chosen size. Those two requests close most of the gap between the listing and the parcel.
Our conclusion
At $39.18, this is a competent embroidered crew neck with a regular fit and a finish that survived a working day without complaint. It is a reasonable buy for someone who wants the motif in blue and will do the confirmation work first. It is not a buy for anyone who needs published measurements, a guaranteed color option, or independent proof of value before spending.
- How we tested
- Ordered in blue, size M. Logged payment, warehouse receipt, QC photos and delivery. Photographed in the 5600K lightbox, taped flat against a reference tee, and worn through one working day by three testers. No size chart was published, so all measurements are ours.

Product listing verified on 2026-11-01.
Did the blue tee match the listed color options?
Not cleanly. Our parcel was blue, matching the photo and title, but the listing's option field still lists white, black and gray only. Confirm the color in writing with the seller before ordering.
Is there a size chart for the M–3XL run?
No. The listing publishes no chest, shoulder or length figures. We measured our own size M at 52 cm pit to pit and 69 cm long; ask the seller for flat measurements in your chosen size.
Is $39.18 fair for this embroidered crew neck?
The only buyer evidence is one QC comment on a comparable Hermes tee that put fair value near 250 CNY, roughly $35. Our sample finished slightly better than that verdict implies, but it is priced just above the benchmark.
