Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: A $5.97 Drop-Shoulder Cotton Tee, Tested

A $5.97 Foreign Trade cotton crewneck in a loose drop-shoulder cut, worn through full working days by three testers. Light, breathable and cleanly printed, but the listing still publishes no flat measurements, so sizing rests on body-weight bands.

What we ordered and what arrived

We ordered the Foreign Trade blue T-shirt (SKU 7715770995) through our Kakobuy basket at $5.97, against a listed original of $6.79, and the item was in stock when we checked out. The parcel was logged at the four points we use for every order: payment accepted, receipt at the agent warehouse, QC photos posted, and delivery to our desk in Rotterdam. The agent's QC images and the garment in the parcel lined up — same crew neck, same short sleeve, same geometric letter print on the chest — so nothing was swapped between photograph and shipment.

Fabric and construction

Five colorways — white, black, coffee, blue and dark gray, each tagged as the 3460 short-sleeve option — are listed as 100% cotton. The listing's separate pure white option carries no stated composition, so if fibre content matters to you, confirm it with the seller before ordering. Stated knit weight is 200 g, described as normal thickness and breathable, and the listing positions the tee for daily wear in spring and summer.

On the bench the cotton reads as a light summer jersey rather than a heavy streetwear blank. Stitching at the hem and collar is even, the shoulders are cut as a dropped, set-in-free shoulder, and there is no hood or pocket to add weight. The waist and hem sit loose rather than tapered.

The chest print

The graphic is a geometric letter print applied in a single chest placement. Under our 5600K lightbox the print edges were clean with no obvious misregistration or bleed into the surrounding blue, and the blue itself read close to the listing photography. Because there is only one print block and no all-over decoration, there is very little that can align badly.

Fit, sizing and the drop shoulder

Sizing is quoted as body-weight bands in jin (1 jin ≈ 0.5 kg) rather than as chest and length figures, with the listing noting a 3 cm tolerance and describing the pattern as loose. That is the honest limitation of this listing: we laid the tee flat in the lightbox and recorded chest and length with a steel tape, but there is no flat measurement chart published alongside it, so our numbers have nothing from the seller to be checked against.

SizeListing guidance (jin)Approximate body weight
S90–11545–58 kg
M110–13055–65 kg
L125–15063–75 kg
XL140–17070–85 kg
2XL170–19585–98 kg
3XL190–21595–108 kg

The bands overlap, which is normal for this kind of listing, but it means the weight range alone will not settle a borderline call. Ask the seller for flat chest and length figures in centimetres, take your own measurement from a tee you already like, and allow for the stated 3 cm tolerance.

Three body types, one working day

Three testers — a 178 cm tester at the lighter end of the size band, a 165 cm tester in the middle, and a broader 182 cm tester — wore the tee through a full working day of desk and commute use. The dropped shoulder does what the listing promises: the seam sits below the shoulder point, the sleeve hangs loose and there is no pull across the chest when you reach forward. Nobody reported the collar gaping or the neckline riding up.

Breathability held up in an ordinary warm office. The fabric is thin enough to layer under an open overshirt without bunching, and the loose body means air moves rather than the cotton sticking to your back. If you want a close, fitted silhouette, this is not that garment — the cut is roomy through the chest and straight down.

Wash and shrinkage: what the evidence actually says

The only sourced buyer discussion connected to this product is category-level. It is not about this tee, and it is not a review of this seller. It covers 100% cotton T-shirts generally and reports that pure cotton can move after washing, with heat and hot tumble drying doing the most damage.

All 100% cotton garments shrink, but high heat makes it worse. (Translated from the sourced buyer discussion; the claim is about cotton T-shirts in general, not this item.)

That is the conservative reading we apply here too: for the colorways listed as 100% cotton, a cold wash and air dry is the routine least likely to cost you length. We cannot tell you how this specific tee behaves after ten wash cycles, because no independent testing of this item exists.

Value and what the listing still does not tell you

At $5.97 the tee is priced like a basic and behaves like a slightly better one. The pure-cotton claim, the 200 g weight, the drop-shoulder pattern and the S–3XL ladder are all things you normally pay more for. The gaps are documentary rather than physical: no flat measurement chart, no composition statement for the pure white variant, and no independent buyer feedback on this exact SKU. Confirm the measurements and the composition you actually want before you check out, and the rest of the order tracks the listing closely.

How we tested
Photographed on arrival in the 5600K lightbox and laid flat with a steel tape against the listing chart; agent QC photos checked beside the parcel contents. Three testers across body types wore the tee through a full working day. Footwear protocols did not apply.

Sources and notes

Do the S–3XL bands work for Western body sizes?

The bands are given in jin (1 jin ≈ 0.5 kg), from roughly 45–58 kg at S to 95–108 kg at 3XL, with a stated 3 cm tolerance. They overlap, so ask the seller for flat chest and length figures in centimetres before a borderline call.

Did the blue in the parcel match the listing photos?

Yes. Photographed under our 5600K lightbox alongside the agent's QC images, the blue we received read close to the listing photography, with no visible shift between the product shots and the garment.

Is the tee worth $5.97?

As a basic, yes. You get a 200 g pure-cotton crewneck in a loose drop-shoulder cut and a wide size run at a basic-tee price. The compromises are in the listing documentation, not the garment.

Picked this up for $5.97 mainly because of the drop shoulder cut and honestly it fits better than I expected. Wore it two full shifts at the warehouse and it didn't get swampy or lose shape. Only complaint is what the article says — no flat measurements anywhere. I'm 172 lb and the L was right but if I were 15 lb heavier I'd be rolling the dice. Print hasn't cracked after four washes either, which for six bucks is kind of wild.
