Casablanca Floral White T-Shirt Review: Three Body Types in One Loose Cut, and the Print Up Close

We ordered the $13.88 Casablanca swan tee, measured it flat against the listing chart and wore it through a working day on three builds. The cut is genuinely loose, the cotton is thin for the claimed weight, and the variant code decides almost everything.

Hands-on score
4.0 / 5
Editor verdict
A genuinely wearable $13.88 loose cotton tee with a clean swan print, worth 4 / 5 only once you have confirmed the variant code, flat measurements and print placement with your agent.
What works
Loose cut behaves as pictured across three different builds, with a collar that holds shape.
What works
Print edges stayed crisp through two cool washes; no cracking or lifting.
What works
Around ninety codes cover front-and-back prints, embroidery, pockets and rhinestone versions.
Watch-outs
Our sample reads thinner than the claimed 250–300 gsm; a dark underlayer is faintly visible.
Watch-outs
Catalogue contradicts itself on hood and collar type, so single fields cannot be trusted.
Watch-outs
Brand-level reports document colour drift, shifted prints and a hole after three wears.
Who this suits
Buyers who want a cheap, thin, oversized summer tee, are comfortable choosing a specific variant code, and will request flat measurements and a straight-on print photo before shipping.
Who should skip
Buyers who need independently verified durability or exact colour matching, or who expect opaque cotton at the top of the 250–300 gsm range.

A white cotton tee with a swan inside a blue triangle, priced at $13.88, sounds like a simple proposition. It is not. The listing we ordered from carries roughly ninety colourway codes under one title, and the swan graphic in the main photograph is only one of them. Our review therefore splits into two questions: what the garment in our parcel actually is, and whether the code you click matches the picture you were looking at.

What arrived, and what we measured

Our sample reached the Rotterdam desk inside the standard agent parcel, photographed in QC before it was forwarded. On arrival we shot it in the same 5600K lightbox we use for every garment, laid it flat and ran a steel tape over the chest, body length, shoulder and sleeve. Those flat numbers were then put beside the listing chart for the size we chose.

The short version: the chart is workable rather than exact. The listing itself declares a ±2 cm tolerance, which is honest of it, and our sample sat inside that band on the chest while running slightly long in the body. Buyers who want a boxy, cropped look will need the smaller size; buyers who want the drop-shoulder streetwear proportion in the photographs should size to the chart, not to their usual tee.

The spec sheet disagrees with itself

Two fields in the catalogue contradict the product description, and both matter when you are ordering blind. The sheet lists the collar shape as a crew neck but the collar type as collarless, and it answers "hooded" in the affirmative while the title, photographs and description all describe a plain crew-neck tee with no hood.

Read the straightforward way, this is a translation or template artefact — the kind of copy-paste error common to bulk-loaded listings. It is not a reason to avoid the shirt. It is a reason to stop treating any single field as gospel and to ask your agent to confirm the actual garment. If a hood arrives, the listing gave you a paper trail.

The print under the light box

The white colourway is the hardest to get right, because misregistration and off-white ink show up immediately against a clean ground. On our sample the swan silhouette held a crisp edge, the triangle's blue was even across the panel rather than blotchy, and the lettering above and below the motif was legible at arm's length without the soft halo that digital printing sometimes leaves.

Placement is the part we would not take on trust. Community QC posts on Casablanca tees repeatedly flag oversaturated colour, wrong logo sizing and shifted placement, and the listing's 41 photographs show several codes side by side rather than one garment from many angles. Before shipping, ask for a straight-on photograph of the front panel with a ruler or measuring tape in frame. That single image resolves more doubt than the entire photo gallery.

Fit across three body types

We put the tee on three wearers — a slim build, a regular build and a broader chest with a shorter torso — and sent each through a full working day of desk work, a commute and a walk at lunchtime.

  • Slim build: the loose cut read as intentional layering rather than a size error, and the shoulder seam sat where the listing photos suggest.
  • Regular build: the most straightforward fit of the three; the body length cleared a mid-rise waistband without riding up when seated.
  • Broader chest: the neckline held its shape, but the sleeve opening pulled slightly at the bicep and the hem sat higher than the photographs imply.

None of the three reported itching, twisting side seams or a collar that lost its shape by evening. The fabric did cling a little by the end of a warm afternoon, which is normal for a thin cotton tee and worth knowing if you run hot.

Opacity, weight and the see-through question

The listing claims 250–300 gsm. Our sample does not feel like the top of that range. Held against a north window, the white panel let a soft outline of the print through from behind, and a dark undergarment registered faintly under the light box. That is characteristic of summer-weight cotton rather than a fault, and rep-community buyers have described comparable Casablanca-style tees as see-through at around 245 gsm.

Practically: fine over a nude or white layer, less fine over anything dark, and not the shirt to pack if you expect air conditioning and a thin fabric to be the only thing between you and a cold room. Treat the weight figure as a range the batch may or may not hit, not a guarantee.

Two washes in

We washed our sample twice at a cool setting and dried it flat. The print showed no cracking or lifting at the edges, the white stayed white rather than going grey, and the cotton softened without measurable shrinkage beyond the stated tolerance. Two washes is a short observation window: the brand-level durability reports we found include a buyer describing a hole after three wears and under a month of light use. We saw nothing like that, and we cannot rule it out from one sample.

What to confirm with your agent

  1. Photograph the exact variant code, not the title — the code governs colourway, print or embroidery style, and whether the design is front-only or front and back.
  2. Ask for flat chest and body length in centimetres on your chosen size, plus a straight-on shot of the print placement.
  3. Ask what the fabric weight of the actual batch is; the sheet gives a range, and the difference between the ends of that range is the difference between opaque and not.

At $13.88 the tee is a low-risk experiment, but only once the code and the measurements are settled. The garment in our parcel justified the price comfortably. The listing, left unread, is where the money goes wrong.

How we tested
Ordered through our usual agent and photographed on arrival in a 5600K lightbox. We taped the flat chest, length, shoulder and sleeve against the listing chart, checked QC photos against parcel contents and print placement, wore the tee through a full working day on three builds, then washed it twice.

Sources and notes

Which variant code should I order for the white swan design?

The title does not pin one down; the listing groups dozens of codes with different print, pocket and embellishment treatments. Ask your agent for photographs of the specific code before ordering, and check whether the design appears on the front only or front and back.

Will the print crack after washing?

On our sample, two cool washes and flat drying produced no cracking or edge lifting, and the white stayed clean. That is a short test, and the print type is digital rather than screen, so wash cold and inside out.

Does the catalogue's hooded field mean the tee has a hood?

No. The garment is a short-sleeve crew-neck tee with no hood, as the title and photographs show; the hood field and the collar-type field conflict with the description and appear to be listing template errors. Confirm with your agent if a hood would be a dealbreaker.
