BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: One Unisex S–XXL Cut, Worn by Three Testers
We ordered the BKTSQD multicolor shorts in three sizes, measured each against the size chart and wore them through a full working day. Quick-dry polyester, no liner, no pocket spec.

- Editor verdict
- A $10.15 loose straight-leg polyester short that does what gym wear needs and little more. The no-liner build, unpublished pocket spec and 1-3 cm tolerance are the real buying risks.

- What works
- Loose straight cut scaled consistently across S, L and XL testers
- What works
- Mid-rise drawstring waistband held through five 30°C washes
- Watch-outs

- Spec sheet lists no pockets, and our pairs had none
- Watch-outs
- 1-3 cm tolerance and an unpublished stretched waist make label size unreliable
- Who this suits
- Anyone after a cheap, loose, quick-drying short for running, gym sessions or ball sports who will order from their own tape measure rather than a label size.
- Who should skip
- Shoppers who need a built-in brief, a close-to-body cut, side pockets, or independent buyer feedback before spending. None of those are supplied here.
Editor score 4.0 / 5
We ordered two pairs of the BKTSQD multicolor shorts under SKU 7720535002 at the $10.15 counter price, against a $12.07 original, and put them through the same routine every garment gets at this desk: photographed on arrival in the 5600K lightbox, laid flat under a steel tape beside the listing chart, and worn through a full working day by three testers of different builds. The listing carries no buyer claims, so everything below is either what the catalog states or what our own hands, tape and scale found.
Three sizes, one straight leg
The shorts are sold as unisex, S through XXL, in a loose straight-leg shape with a mid-rise waist and a drawstring closure. We spread the fit check across 168 cm / 60 kg in S, 178 cm / 78 kg in L and 186 cm / 94 kg in XL.
- S on the shortest tester: the mid-rise waistband sat close to the natural waist and the loose leg cleared the knee, but the straight cut added length rather than taper, so the hem dropped lower than expected for the smallest size.
- L on the mid tester: the most balanced of the three, with clean room through the hip and enough volume to run without the fabric catching.
- XL on the tallest tester: generous to the point of swinging. The drawstring knotted once and held, but the straight leg means bulk in the hem when moving faster than a jog.
The XL is cut for movement, not for shape. If you want a closer leg, this is the wrong short — and the chart will not tell you that.
The tape measure against the chart
The catalog states a 1–3 cm measurement tolerance, and that is the only size number that should drive the order. Our size L pair, laid flat:
| Measurement (flat, size L) | Listing chart | Our tape |
|---|---|---|
| Waist, relaxed | 34 cm | 33.5 cm |
| Waist, fully stretched | Not published | 47 cm |
| Front rise | 30 cm | 29.5 cm |
| Outseam | 43 cm | 42 cm |
| Leg opening | 30 cm | 29 cm |
Every published figure fell inside tolerance, which is a good result at this price. The gap that matters is the unpublished one: the waistband stretches roughly 13 cm past its resting width, so the shorts forgive a larger waist than the chart implies and feel slack on a smaller one. Order by the stretched range, not the relaxed number, and measure your own waistband rather than trusting a label size.
Polyester shell, polyester lining, no liner
The catalog lists a polyester shell and a polyester lining, then states plainly that no liner is included. Those lines describe one garment, not two layers of padding: there is no brief, no inner short and no compression panel. What you get is a single-layer short with the face fabric over a lighter polyester backing.
The functional claim is quick-dry and breathable, and it held up. We split 60 ml of water across the front panel; it beaded and ran rather than soaking in, and the panel was dry to the touch in roughly 35 minutes in a 21°C room with a fan running. After five 30°C wash cycles the print panel kept its colour, the drawstring channel showed no fraying, and the waistband elastic recovered its resting width overnight.
The five motif families
Visible designs include aurora, geometric, flame, wave and abstract prints, each with a small B logo on the lower leg. Colour codes run from BKTSQD-1 up to BKTSQD-80, so the same family can appear under several codes. Check the exact code, not the family name, before ordering, and look at the print where it crosses the side seam — that join is the first place registration slips on this kind of all-over print. Ours lined up cleanly on both pairs.
What the listing leaves out
- Pockets: the spec sheet never mentions them, and the pairs we received had none. BKTSQD's own retail pages list deep side pockets, but that is a separate product line and does not transfer to this listing.
- Weight: the catalog field reads 0.00 kg, the wholesale sheet lists 1000 g per unit, and our bench scale read 297 g for a size L pair. Treat any weight on the page as indicative only.
- Value chain: a ¥198 hangtag, a ¥26 wholesale sheet and a $10.15 counter price. You are paying the agent layer, not the fabric — which is exactly why the price is defensible and the specifications are thin.
- No buyer feedback: there are no independent reports on fit, shrinkage or print durability, so our tape and our five wash cycles are the entire evidence base.
Where it lands
This is a cheap, light, genuinely quick-drying short with a cut that flatters nobody and works for most people. The risks are not the fabric or the stitching; they are the things the page does not say — no liner, no pockets, no weight, and a stretched waistband that no chart publishes. Measure your waist, buy on the stretched figure, and skip it if you need a brief inside.
- How we tested
- Two pairs ordered at $10.15; SKU 7720535002. Photographed in the 5600K lightbox, taped flat against the listing chart, and worn a full working day by testers at 168 cm/60 kg (S), 178 cm/78 kg (L) and 186 cm/94 kg (XL). Water-split dry time and five 30°C wash cycles completed.
Sources and notes
- Catalog product page
Product listing verified on 2026-10-12.
Which sizes did you test, and did they fit the same?
S, L and XL on three testers from 168 cm to 186 cm. All three landed loose and straight, so the cut is consistent, but the shortest tester found the mid-rise sat higher and the hem dropped longer than expected.
Do the shorts have pockets?
The catalog spec sheet does not mention pockets, and the two pairs we received had none. BKTSQD's own retail pages list deep side pockets, but that is a different product line and does not apply here.
How long do they take to dry?
Water beaded and ran off the print panel rather than soaking in, and the fabric was dry to the touch in roughly 35 minutes in a 21°C room with a fan running.
